At this stage I have completed what I believe is a suitable and well produced front page for my newspaper. With that I have included my headline story 'Helter skelter. Infant dies at Portsmouth fair' and the sub story 'Euro millions jackpot winner'.Today I plan to begin the second page of my newspaper including the headline story and additional graphics .

Analysation of local newspapers
The News is a local paper which covers new stories in Portsmouth. Unlike national papers regional newspaper tend to contain
a large majority of very minor stories and articles. As national papers can pick and choose what to document with pages full of stories easily capable of being the headline stories for the local paper. However as 'The Portsmouth News' main aim is to cover just the area of Portsmouth they may struggle to fill the paper with worthwhile and genuine new stories. Therefore a lot of the paper will consists of free advertisement offered by 'The News' such as small articles/adverts for school fetes.
Another main factor of a local newspaper is that they consist of both tabloid and broadsheet material unlike The Sun for example who are purely a tabloid newspaper.
The Daily Echo, like The News is a local newspaper but instead
covers the Southampton area. The papers are both similar however I believe the daily echo covers a wider area simply due to Southampton being larger in size. In both you find they follow the same simple structure of, main stories on first few pages along with many pages at the back of the paper purely covering regional sport. Throughout the remaining pages will consist of many advertisements, very small stories and space filling articles.
Euro millions ticket winner
The second biggest Euro Millions jackpot of £64 million has been won by a 46 year local shop owner.
Jane Redbridge, owner of J.R hardware came forward on Tuesday to claim the huge sum which was later confirmed by Camelot.
A spokesman for Camelot said 'The ticketholder has been successful in winning the second largest Euro millions jackpot and we are pleased to announce that the sum is currently being transfered to Mrs Redbridge'
